Renowned Kenyan Gay author, Kenneth Binyavanga Wainaina, has proposed to his long-term Nigerian partner.
The 2002 Caine Prize winner for African Writing,Wainaina ,and founder of the Nairobi-based journal, Kwani, is set to wed early next year after he proposed to his mystery lover whom he has dated for over six years.
He shared the news of his proposal on his Twitter handle on Wednesday,writing
I knelt down and asked my love for his hand in marriage two weeks ago. He said YES. We will be married in South Africa early next year. I am beside myself with excitement that he has agreed to spend the rest of his life with me.
Standard Media Kenya added that the author and his partner will be living in South Africa where his partner will be studying.
Responding to the outpouring of messages on his Twitter feeds, Wainaina hinted that there may be a Nigerian party sometime next year to celebrate his marriage.
