Aliko Dangote Named 66th Most Powerful Person In The World

Africa’s richest man and Chairman of Dangote Group of companies Aliko Dangote has been named the 66th most powerful person in the world by Forbes.

The Forbes annual ranking of the world’s most powerful people identifies one out of 100 million people whose actions have implications on the world.

Dangote rose five spots from his 2017 ranking which was 71st to the 66th place.

He is also the only black person on the Forbes most powerful people list.

According to Pulse , Dangote ranks a place higher than US Vice President Mike Pence.

On top of the list is Chinese president, Xi Jinping, unseating Russian president, Vladimir Putin, who’s now second and followed closely by US president, Donald Trump, in third place.

German Chancellor Angela Markel maintains her spot as the most powerful woman in the world as she ranks 4th in the entire world, with UK Prime Minister Theresa May ranked 14th.

According to Forbes people who made the list had their powers tested along four lines: whether they have power over lots of people, financial resources controlled by them, how powerful are they in multiple spheres, and how actively they use their power.
