Regina Askia-Williams, born Regina Askia Usoro on December 16, 1967. She gained prominence as a beauty queen and model in Nigeria before relocating to the United States.

Askia-Williams holds a degree in Biology from the University of Lagos and earned her nursing degree at Wagner College. Currently, she practices as a Family Nurse Practitioner in New York City, where she advocates for African outreach in children’s health, education, and economic development.

In addition to her modeling career, Askia-Williams made her mark in the Nigerian film industry during the 1990s and early 2000s. Her acting breakthrough came in 1993 when she portrayed the gold-digger character “Tokunbo Johnson” in the Nigerian soap opera “Fortunes.” She starred in several “Nollywood” films, including “High way to the grave” which were primarily released directly to video audiences in Nigeria, Tanzania, Cameroon and Ghana. Despite taking a hiatus, she returned to acting in a Nigerian film titled “Web.” Her contributions to both entertainment and healthcare reflect her multifaceted talents and commitment to making a difference.
