Bamise’s Murder: Lagos Govt To Arraign BRT Driver Andrew Nice Today

Andrew Nice Omininikoron, the BRT driver accused of murdering Oluwabamise Ayanwola, a 22-year-old fashion designer, will be arraigned today (Tuesday) before a Lagos High Court sitting in the Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) region of the state.

According to Channels Television, the suspect will be charged with four charges of conspiracy, murder, and two counts of rape before Justice Sherifat Sonaike.

The arraignment followed legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecution, Dr. Jide Martins, who recommended that the BRT driver be prosecuted.

On Saturday, February 26, Bamise went missing after boarding a BRT bus.
At around 7 p.m., she was claimed to have taken the bus to Oshodi at Chevron Bus-stop.

She worked as a fashion designer at Chevron Estate in Ajah, Lagos, till her death, but spent her weekends with her sister in Ota, Ogun State. Sadly, her body was discovered thrown by the wayside near Lagos Island’s Carter Bridge.

The event was apparently reported to officials at the Ebute Ero Police Station by an unnamed guy, according to the police.

Later, the body was transported to the Mainland Hospital Mortuary.

Andrew Nice Omininikoron, 47, was subsequently apprehended by Department of State Services operatives at his hiding spot in Ososa, Ogun State (DSS).
