Written and directed by Seth Breedlove, Boggy Creek Monster features cryptid researcher Lyle Blackburn. The documentary digs into the long history of sightings of the legendary Fouke Monster spotlighted in the classic horror film The Legend of Boggy Creek. Boggy Creek Monster shows the decades long search for an unknown creature said to exist in the swamps and forests around the tiny town of Fouke, Arkansas.
Boggy Creek Monster is part of a series of documentaries on Small Town Monsters, with which Breedlove set out to “capture true accounts from tiny communities often forgotten by the larger media outlets, and from the era (1960s and 1970s) of high intensity monster encounters.” Other entries in this series include The Mothman of Point Pleasant, Invasion on Chestnut Ridge, The Flatwoods Monster: A Legacy of Fear, The Bray Road Beast, Terror in the Skies, MOMO: The Missouri Monster, The Mothman Legeacy, The Mark of the Bell Witch, and Skinwalker: Howl of the Rougarou.
