Rachel Rocca and Dhruvi Patel are high school friends who opened a storefront menswear boutique. They put men in daring, bold colors and prepped for a Christmas Gala auctioning off NYC’s finest bachelors.
Rachel goes to meet said bachelor and bumps into a handsome man on the phone. She thinks he is talking to her, and they laugh about it. The conversation quickly turns south when he unknowingly disses her work to her face. Stating that he only wears black and thinks colored suits are trashy.
In the meeting room, the designers are all given candy canes and matched with a designer. Rachel matches with the rude stranger, an eligible bachelor, Brett Stone. Rachel is horrified and calls Dhruvi, who looks him up online and is impressed. Brett is the creator of a social media network.
To add to Rachel’s stress, she is hosting her parents for Christmas from Bolivia. (Or maybe Milwaukee, haha) Rachel has her dad tag along for a meeting with Brett Stone. They all vote on the suit color, and it is a tie. Rachel’s mother turns against her and votes for black. Brett’s sister/assistant votes for color. For Rachel, the colors mean more than just being bold; it is a nod to her Abuela; she used to say, “You have to face the storm to see the rainbow.”
Brett Stone is very handsome and set in his ways, but he isn’t totally heartless. He is about giving physical and emotional shelter to needy kids, which is pretty cool. He hosts a big brother program called NYC Foster and has been mentoring a teenager named Demario.
