EFCC speaks after Akpabio defected to APC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reportedly said Senator Godswill Akpabio still has a case to answer.

The Punch reports that the anti-graft agency said this via its spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren.

Akpabio defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress on Wednesday, August 8.

At the rally, he described himself as a man of peace and that he has no case to answer before the EFCC.

He said: “Those petitions to the EFCC have been sorted out. As I stand today, I have not been charged to court because nothing was found against me.”

The EFCC spokesperson in his reaction said: “EFCC does not close cases or give clearance to anybody.”
