Real Madrid player, Isco has spoken about the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid.
The Spanish International was asked by reporters if the club which is struggling with form is missing Ronaldo, he said,“We can’t look for solutions in someone who isn’t here. We can’t be crying for someone who didn’t want to be here.”
He went on to express his support for Real Madrid coach Julen Lopetegui who has come under intense criticism and facing imminent sack.
“It is not about just me, the squad in general, we all believe in him, in his work, and that all together we can turn this situation around,” he continued.
“If you throw out the coach, you would have to throw out all of us, as it is the players who go out onto the pitch to play. I am still confident we can have a magnificent game.”
“The press do not have the power to get rid of a Madrid coach. We believe fully in what this team can achieve, and the coach has full confidence of the players.
“After that, many things can happen, but I am convinced we can have a very good season.”
Lopetegui is reported to have just one game left before he’s shown the exit door, and the game is an el classico clash with Barcelona.
Real Madrid has played five-games without a win included a 481-minute run without a goal – the longest barren patch in the club’s entire 116-year history.
Suffering a 2-1 defeat at home to Levante on Saturday, that appears as the breaking point for the manager.
Since taking over from Zinedine Zidane, Lopetegui has had a difficult period with the Los Blancos. Part of the problem includes not having a goal threat since Cristiano Ronaldo left the club for Juventus. The Spanish Giants have also opted not to replace the Portuguese superstar.
