The widow who was tied and beaten by members of her community after she was accused of being a witch has been hospitalized, Amebo9ja report.
It was earlier reported that the woman, identified as Mrs Okechi, was tied up in a public place for two days and tortured by grown men after she was branded a witch by her late husband’s brother’s wife.A video capturing the horrific moment some young men took turns to flog the elderly woman was shared online by human rights activist, Harrison Gwamnishu, on Sunday, August 28.

The video stirred an outrage on social media and attracted the attention of the Abia State Government who gave an update that the woman has been rescued and hospitalized.
