Fountain of life Church Pastor, Taiwo Odukoya loses second wife to cancer after years of the death of his first wife and tele-evangelist Bimbo Odukoya.
Taiwo Odukoya, the presiding pastor of the Fountain of Life Church, Ilupeju, Lagos, announced the passing of his wife of 11 years, Rosemary Simangele Nomthi (nee Zulu).
Pastor Taiwo lost his first wife, Pastor Bimbo Odukoya on December 10, 2005, as result of the Sosoliso plane crash.
A statement released by the church revealed that the South African battled the deadly disease for two years.
“With deep regret and gratitude to God, we have to announce the passing of our Senior Pastor’s wife, Pastor Nomthi Odukoya.
“She battled cancer for the better part of 2 years, she stood on the Word of God, and she fought.
“We loved her with all our heart, but who are we to fight with the will of God.
“The truth is, at one point in our lives, we all will have to say goodbye. So for now, till we meet again in glory, Goodbye Pastor Nomthi,” the statement added.
Pastor Odukoya announced the death of his wife on his Instagram page.
“With deep regret and gratitude to God, I have to announce the passing of my wife, Pastor Nomthi Odukoya.
“She battled cancer for the better part of two years, she stood on the Word of God and she fought.
“She gave me 11 beautiful years of marriage and two wonderful boys, who I know will be very significant in life.”
Moreso, earlier today, the G.O of the Redeemed Christian Church Of God, Pastor E.A Adeboye who paid a condolence visit took to his official Facebook page to announce:
Earlier today, I paid a condolence visit to one of my sons, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, whose wife transitioned into glory last week.
We are deeply comforted in the fact that Pastor (Mrs) Nomthi Odukoya knew, loved and served the Lord with such fervency. And so we rejoice that she is in heaven; a place where there is eternal peace and rest.
Indeed, God is unquestionable. My prayer is that The Almighty God continues to strengthen the Odukoya family and grant them the grace needed for this period. I pray for God’s divine protection over Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, the children, and the Fountain of Life ministry. In JESUS’ name. Amen!
