Set during the Joseon era, Hong Cheon-Ki (Kim You-Jung) is a female painter with genius like painting talent. She is picked as the first female painter of the Dohwaseo (Korean Royal Academy of Painting). Hong Cheon-Ki also has a beautiful appearance and bright personality. For her, painting is everything. One day, she meets Ha Ram.
Ha Ram (Ahn Hyo-Seop) is an officer at the Seowoongwan, an office in charge of astronomy, geography, art of divination, meteorology. When he was young, an accident caused him to become blind. Hong Cheon-Ki falls in love with him and she does not care that he is blind. Hong Cheon-Ki keeps appearing in front of Ha Ram and he finds himself waiting for her.
During the Joseon Dynasty, a young woman named Hong Chun Ki is a painter – a true rarity in Joseon Korea, where Confucian values dictate that such pursuits are unsuitable for a woman. The duo is sucked into the machinations of the royal court, particularly those involving two princes, the free-spirited Prince Yang Myung and the cruel, scheming Prince Joo Hyang – a man who longs to become the next Joseon king.
Ahn Hyo-seop and Kim Se-jeong’s fans are excited to see the A Business Proposal pair share the stage yet again. The pair hosted the 2021 SBS Awards last year, where they also revealed they will be working on A Business Proposal.
A Business Proposal is a romantic comedy adapted from the webtoon of the same name. The drama revolves around food researcher Shin Ha-ri (Kim Se-jeong) who goes on a blind date in her friend’s place. In a hilarious turn of events, the blind date turns out to be the president of her company Go Food, Kang Tae-mu (Ahn Hyo-seop). He eventually finds out that he was fooled and hires her to be his contract date to avoid getting married.
As the two begin their contract relationship, Kang Tae-mu and Shin Ha-ri fall in love, vowing to be together against all odds, including class difference and their boss-employee relationship. The drama also stars Kim Min-gue as Secretary Cha Sung-hoon and Seol In-ah as Jin Young-seo.
