Detective Knight: Redemption will be hailed as a must-see this December for a pretty obvious reason. It has Bruce Willis in it, it’s a Christmas movie, and it’s an action movie. With Die Hard being hailed as the greatest Christmas movie by many action cinema enthusiasts, it’s always going to go on during the festive season, but why not try a double-bill this time?
Directed by Edward John Drake, Redemption is actually the second installment in a trilogy that began with Rogue earlier in 2022.
Starring screen icon Bruce in the role of the titular James Knight, the sequel finds him facing off against Paul Johansson as Ricky Conlan, also known as the Christmas Bomber
In custody in New York, Detective James Knight finds himself in the middle of a jailbreak led by The Christmas Bomber, a brutal fanatic whose Santa Claus disciples are terrorizing the city. With the promised return of his badge in exchange for taking out the terrorists, the steely-eyed Knight doles out mercy for the just…and merciless justice for all the rest.
WHERE TO WATCH DETECTIVE KNIGHT TRILOGY ON STREAMING
The first installment of the trilogy is Rogue and you can rent the movie in the US on such streaming platforms as Amazon Video, YouTube, and Google Play Movies.
It’s on Amazon Video for just $0.99, which is the cheapest option.
The sequel – Redemption – was released on VOD on Friday, December 9th 2022, and is available on the aforementioned streaming platforms. Amazon Video offers it for just $4.99, also the cheapest option.
For those who would rather see it on the big screen, it has also received a limited theatrical release and you can check for tickets and screening on Fandango.
Last but not least, the concluding chapter in the trilogy – subtitled Independence – is scheduled for limited theatrical release and VOD on Friday, January 20th 2023. It’s expected to be available on the same platforms as its predecessors.
