Ravi Kumar quit as president of the company, and the company told the stock exchange about it in a filing. In 2015, Infosys named Kumar, who is from New York, as one of its presidents. He worked for the company for more than 20 years and was in his position for almost seven years.

Kumar’s resignation wasn’t a surprise because people had been talking about it for 6 months. In 2017, Kumar was put in charge of running the business. So, COO U B Pravin Rao had to leave his job last year. When Pravin Rao retired, his job as COO went with him, and his responsibilities were divided among the other top managers. The role of Deputy COO, which Kumar was in charge of, was also taken away. Kumar went to the Xavier Institute of Management in Bhubaneswar and got a degree in Business Administration.

Kumar has been a consultant in technology for more than 20 years. During that time, he has started new practice lines, led large transformational programs, and made new business models for a wide range of industries. From New York City until October 2022, Kumar was the head of Infosys. He was in charge of the Infosys Global Services Organization in all global industry segments, including digital transformation services, consulting services, technology services, engineering services, data and analytics, cloud and infrastructure, and enterprise package applications. He also led the Business Process Management (BPM) Unit and was Chair of the Board of Infosys BPM Ltd. He was in charge of running Infosys’s businesses in India, Japan, China, and Latin America. He was also in charge of Infosys Consulting Services and Infosys Public Services. Kumar also started and led Infosys’s efforts to adapt to different cultures. He also worked with clients, state governments, and academic ecosystems to build technology and digital talent pools in the US, Europe, and Australia. These talent pools helped him build new Innovation and Digital Technology Hubs. Kumar used to be the Group Head for the Insurance, Healthcare, and Cards and Payments unit at Infosys. In this role, he oversaw client services, demand generation, next-generation service offerings, innovation, and a world-class delivery organization to help clients. Kumar was also in charge of the Global Delivery group for the manufacturing industry group. He built the global Oracle and CRM practices for Infosys and took on different roles in different Oracle Corporation CRM-related organizations. At Cambridge Technology Partners, he built a next-generation customer relationship management practice. He had clients from all over the world and helped them start their own businesses.

Kumar is a member of both the TransUnion and Digimarc Corporation boards of directors. He is on the Compensation Committee and the Mergers, Acquisitions, and Integration Committee at TransUnion. He is on the Compensation and Talent Management Committee and the Market Development Committee at Digimarc Corporation. Kumar also sits on the Board of Governors of the New York Academy of Sciences and the Board of Directors of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

Education

Kumar got his Bachelor of Engineering from Shivaji University and his Master of Business Administration from the Xavier Institute of Management, India.
